Shell Plates

If calculations determine that the tank shell is insufficient for your project or does not meet current AWWA seismic requirements, it can be stiffened in several ways. Processes include installing bolted-on steel bands ranging from a couple of inches to a couple of feet wide, adding a lap and plug welded reinforcing plate, and installing a completely new shell ring.
